GENERAL PURPOSE TOOLS AND STORAGE
These Stanley hammers are deigned to minimize the vibration and shock during use, through molded grips and a choice of shafts including a graphite shaft with high impact polycarbonate which absorbs and damps the shock.
HAMMERS
Claw hammers, ball pein hammers, straight pein hammers, wooden mallets, club hammers, sledge hammers, slaters’ hammers, brick hammers, plastic and rubber headed mallets; if that’s not enough choice, have a look at the specialist hammers and mallets in our Specialist Tools area.
KNIVES
We have precision blade knives for lightweight accurate cutting, fixed and retractable blade craft knives for general building and DIY, disposable knives, carpet knives, and a wide choice of blades.
These craft knives have replaceable blades held fast in a screw-locking 4-jawed chuck. There is a choice of handles, and there are straight and curved cutting blades, V and U shaped gouges.
These Faithfull levels are accurate to better than ±1mm per metre, with milled working faces for consistent accuracy.
SPIRIT LEVELS
A good spirit level is invaluable in tasks as diverse as bricklaying and putting up shelves. We have a considerable range of shockproof, lightweight levels which give horizontal, vertical and 45° indications, in lengths from 10″ (250mm) to 48″ (1220mm). There’s a magnetic level which is useful when working with steel, and in the Specialist Tools Section you’ll find laser guides for very easy and accurate marking.
PLIERS AND CUTTERS
The variety of hand tools for gripping and cutting is quite amazing: pliers, cutters, wire strippers, side cutters, wrenches, long-nosed pliers, pincers, circlip pliers, nippers, crimpers, diagonal cutters, ratchet pliers (these carry on gripping when you let go), water pump pliers, mole grip pliers, tile trimming pliers, pipe wrenches – and that’s before we get onto heavy duty tools like stilsons.
Whatever you want to do, we have the pliers, cutters and wrenches for the task, and very often in well-price collections.
These pliers and cutters have non-slip soft handles for a firm yet comfortable grip. There are dozens in the range,
and all are tested to various industrial safety standards and provide electrical insulation up to 1000V AC.
Stanley Yankee ratchet screwdrivers take the wristwork out of putting in screws. There are several sizes and each takes a choice of bits: several sizes each of flat, Phillips and Pozidriv/Supadriv.
SCREWDRIVERS
You might think a screwdriver is a screwdriver and hat’s that. In fact, there are three popular screwheads, each available in several sizes, and of course there are screwdrivers to match. There are also some specialized screws and drivers that provide a degree of security against tampering.
The length of the stem and width of the blade will determine whether the driver can be used in tight spaces, some handles are designed for maximum comfort, others for durability, some for convenience – being oval, the driver won’t roll off the workbench! There are electrical test screwdrivers, jewelers screwdrivers, screwdriver kits and screwdrivers with interchangeable bits, like the ratchet screwdrivers shown on the left.
SPANNERS
Open ended spanners, ring spanners, combination spanners, ratchet ring spanners, socket spanners, all available in metric and imperial measurements and in a range of materials.
These aren’t just adjustable spanners – Bahco invented the adjustable spanner or wrench over 100 years ago and their quality is second to none. With handles up to 30″ (760mm) these wrenches are capable of handling very large jobs with ease.

STAPLE GUNS AND RIVETERS
Riveters and staple guns make light work of some difficult tasks. The staple guns operate with staples from 4 to 16mm long (deep), in round and flat-top styles. There are mains powered and cordless guns, guns which fix insulated staples over mains wiring, hammer-style guns for fast use such as insulation and building work.
Our riveters will fasten aluminium and steel rivets from 3 to 6mm diameter. Straight and angled, heavy duty lever riveters and lazy tong one-handed riveters will deal with most requirements.
GLASS AND TILE CUTTERS
It isn’t difficult to cut glass or trim tiles, and the right tools make it easier still. We have many glass cutting tools and wheels, suction pads to hold pieces of glass while they’re being cut or lifted, tile scorers, tile cutters and files – there’s a motorized tile cutter that will cut through tiles up to 1″ (25mm) thick.
