SPECIALIST HAND TOOLS

Micrometers and depth gauge micrometers. These examples measure 0 to 1″ (or 0 to 25mm) externally with a 0.001″ (or 0.01mm) scale, Depth gauge micrometers offer similar measurement ranges and scales.

MICROMETERS

Micrometers, depth gauge micrometers, internal micrometers and combination sets allow highly accurate measurements of small components where tolerances are critical.

TAPS AND DIES

Hand taps cut an internal screw thread (like a nut’s thread) in metal and dies cut an external thread (like a bolt’s). Taps and dies are available individually or in sets, and we have anti-seize and cutting lubricants to make the task easier.

Taps require the use of an inexpensive tap wrench to provide the handle to the cutter. Dies fit into a die stock which performs the same function.

A selection of taps, dies, tap wrenches and die stocks. These taps are supplied in sets of three: taper cut, second and bottoming for easily achieved, well cut threads.

A selection of marking punches and centre punches.

PUNCHES, MARKERS AND SCRIBERS

Mostly for metalwork, we have sets of number and letter punches in character heights from 1.5 to 13mm for marking and identifying anything made of metal, from a contractor’s shovel to a bicycle.

Engineers’ scribers are used to mark metal, hardwood and glass, usually prior to cutting.

Centre punches, available in several sizes, make a guide point in metal for easy drilling, while nail punches are used to tap nails below the surface of timber.

SPECIAL PURPOSE MALLETS

These mallets are used in panel beating, dressing, art metal work and wood carving.

Lignum Vitae offers an exceptionally hard striking surface for these specialist mallets.

This low-cost laser level guide provides an accurate reference in both the horizontal and vertical planes.

LASER LEVELS

Many level marking jobs can be done more easily and quickly using a laser level system. Accurate marking of straight lines, vertical or horizontal reference planes, positioning of fixings are all easy to achieve.
